In my work I like to explore the ideas of structure and stability in an environment that is completely random. Aspects such as the grid I can control. Color patterns dictated by random number tables I can’t. My hope is to create imagery that tests this tension and balance between structure and chance, an image that at any one moment can feel very static yet doesn’t allow the eyes to stop wandering because of the visual movement. It is human nature to seek a sense of structure in our lives, yet we live in a very random world.
